What is a reference sheet?
A reference sheet is a digitally drawn character concept sheet that depicts your character and their most dintiguishing features/ personal items. If you are looking to get a commission of your character done, many artists will not start a commission for you until you have one of your character (thus check their Terms of Service).
Here's why:
Reference sheets allow for artists to replicate the exact colors of your character
Artists can understand the complexity of your character's design at a single glance, thus establishing limits and expectations for the character.
This allows the artist to focus on the pose/ environment that you want them to paint as opposed to completely creating your character for you and then drawing them in said pose/ environment, which is really 2x the workload.
But have no fear, Ace is here! If you want to get your art drawn anywhere online, you can order a ref sheet here and artists all over the web will be more than happy to take it up!

Note!!: Ref sheets are notably never shaded! This is so artists can easily distinguish colors
